Open Question: What universities can I get into???? pleaseeeee help me!!!!!!!!?
Ok, I have 3 questions, but first a little background info.

I was born in the U.S., but grew up in Europe, the school system in the Netherlands is very different than in the U.S.

When I transferred to the U.S. during my junior year (high school), the grades (that would be very good in Amsterdam) were “translated” into only average grades in the U.S.
I speak English as any other American would (no accent fluent), so they decided to just throw me into class, and this was the time where i had to do my SAT, ACT, AP tests, etc. and being new to all of this, and having some external problems (deaths in the family, evacuating because of California fires) I didn’t do a very good job. Nobody ever explained how universities “work”, and I still don’t understand everything

Now I’m almost finished with my first year of college. I chose to do an online university, as I am traveling at the moment, and I almost have straight A’s (2 A-). I will transfer to a university in the U.S. fall 2010 (by then I will be in my junior year)

So here’s my first question, do universities pay much attention to your High School grades and SAT scores, even when you’re doing better now, and can I still get into universities such as Johns Hopkins or NYU? (I am going to contact the universities, but just to get an extra opinion)

Secondly, is there any lists that contain the average GPA for transfer admissions?

Can anyone provide some suggestions, the best universities I can get into with a 3.9something GPA, I major in psychology, but I will be taking my prerequisites for medical school, and I will transfer to medical school for grad school. I am also thinking of minoring in dance or music (is that possible?)

so yeah…please answer all the questions…I really need help…sorry for the length of the “question”.

Open Question: Will it ever be possible to reclaim all of America’s major cities?
Criminal gangs and irresponsible ghetto masses have made the big cities and many mid sized cities uninhabitable for law abiding citizens. Whereas most cities in the world offer jobs, housing, grocery stores and other necessities for working families, as well as cheaper mass transportation, walking distance work sites or shopping or recreation, American cities are filthy crime ridden areas that no one in their right mind would care to visit let alone live there.
These ‘lost’ cities force people to live further out requiring commuting to jobs, freeways, and time wasted traveling to and from work sites in cities. .

Open Question: What is the safest way to travel in Bangkok ?
Hey Guys,

I will down to bangkok next week with my Family, which why the concern. I’ve heard things from people before which is why I need help from all you Locals and other well informed people.

I want to know what is the safest and the best medium to get around out there apart from. I’ve geard Cabbies and TUK TUK drivers many a times scam tourists. Any way of ensuring that doesn’t happen ?

More over is it safe to wonder in the city after Dark ? like if we want to shop to just take a walk by the river etc.

Are Cabs and Tuk Tuks very expensive in comparison to the Sky train and the MTR in general ?

I just wanted to know general stuff like that and alternate solutions if some one has any.

Thanks a lot .. appreciate it ! :)
