Voting Question: i got transferred at work, but can i fight it?
i work at a bank and i have been there for 6 months or so. on thursday, an hour before close i was called into the managers office and given the shittiest news ever! i was transferred to a branch that is 45 minutes to an hour, (depending on weather and traffic) away from my house. the branch i was just transferred from is 10 minutes away from my house.
now the real deal, hy its an issue- i was told on thursday and immediately audited out of my drawer. i was told to reportto this new branch on monday (i was off friday.) funny thing is i was supposed to work saturday and they didnt look at that before hand so they told me to take it off and they would pay me…(im annoyed at this point:-)
the only reason its a huge issue is because of the distance i have to travel. i am a little over 3 months pregnant and may be considered high risk due to a previous miscarriage so i like to stay close to home. next my fiance and i are cutting cost and getting rid of our car that we pay 400 dollars for! and almost 300 in insurance for and keep our truck and save to make a largedown payment on a cheaper more efficient car. we work different times- he was going to take me to work and my sister lives in the neighborhood near my work and was willing to bring me home to help us out. now that they have m working so far away thats not an option but it needs to happen!
i wasn’t asked or given a choice on the transfer and i was wondering if anyone thought i could fight it and get transferred back to my previous branch. it’s convenient for me and everything thats happening in my family to be’s life. its exausting and way out of my way to drive everyday in a trailblazer truck at that..any suggestions?
i know that im lucky to still have a job thats not what im saying by any means. its out of my way, i will soon have only one car and with me working at 845 to 6 and him 1 to 8 and all of my family living within 5 minutes of each other on this side of town is crazy. its winter in colorado- lets be reasonable! ahve to be able to get there on a daily basis to even have a job and an hour drive is a little extreme… i am grateful to still have a job. im saying can they do that with absolutely no warning?
