One foot off the plane and I knew I was in love with Costa Rica. This was the place ? the beginning and sometime the ending ? to my travels in Central America. First things first, get myself out of the airport.

My journey is tentatively planned to last for a year, traveling in Central America. And that is it. No detailed itineraries or set dates. All I want is to enjoy daily adventures, start to speak Spanish and enjoy what this country offers. To clarify, it offers every kind of bio-diversity possible. After 48 hours in San Jose, I was ready for something more and hopped on a bus to the pacific coast.

Talk about a night and day difference in locations. Costa Rican terrain changes rapidly, therefore, its climate does as well. The beach was great and the heat was even better. I spent two weeks on the beach in Santa Teresa. Living the life of a surfer armed with a few books. If you would like to try surfing, please prepare yourself to be put through the gauntlet. Your body might reject the feeling of being ripped, pulled, smacked, flipped, rolled, battered and flattened by the water. The surf in Santa Teresa is up. It is a fun challenge; some might choose a weekend at the in-laws instead.

After my fourth book on the beach, it was time to move on. If I plan on covering Central America in one year I should keep moving. My new friends suggested Monteverde and Santa Elena be my next destination for a variety of reasons. A 4 a.m. alarm, an early bus, ferry and one more bus landed me in the mountains again.

The bio-diversity of Monteverde will leave you speechless. It is beautiful. The animals, butterflies and reptiles are every color imaginable and everything else, well the rest is green. Make it point to walk in the cloud forest for a day or two and you will agree.

The views, the bio-diversity and pretty much everything about this region in Costa Rica is incredible. Bright colors radiate from the toucans, hummingbirds, butterflies and even the insects. And everything else is green. If you don?t believe me, try hiking in one of the cloud forest reserves for a day.

While walking up the mountain I day-dreamed about which house would be Hidden Canopy. Wondering if Jenn King would know our mutual friend and what these tree houses would really be like. My mind drifted off into ideas about Peter Pan and Tarzan.

They said the boutique hotel was up the mountain, so I laced up my hiking shoes and started up. Happily dreaming about what luxury tree houses really are and if this person would be able to find our mutual link. I could not stop thinking Tree houses, really? Yes, tree houses!? I wondered what life was like inside.I soon found out after I stepped foot into Hidden Canopy Tree house Boutique Hotel. To imagine, start dreaming of a place hidden on the side of a mountain offering views of the Gulf of Nicoya. Yes, it took my breath away. I stood speechless until asked to resume the tour. Wow, this can?t be real.

There are four tree houses in total, all creatively tucked into the forest, offering privacy and luxury in the trees. The tree house Eden had me practically jumping, a waterfall shower that led to a Jacuzzi , surrounded by glass. What a perfect vacation spot for any traveler. It sounds like a dream, but it cannot be, I saw it with my own eyes.
