High school seniors have loved coming to Disney Grad Nite ever since’61 because it is a great way to celebrate and spend one last night with their school friends. Disney’s Grad Nite is held in Anaheim, California at Disneyland. There is also a Grad Nite in Florida at Disneyworld in Orlando.
All over California seniors come to celebrate the end of their high school days. There are so many fun things for them to do and live music to dance and listen to. Some very famous artists play on Grad Nite.
The hottest artists play on Grad Nite at Disneyland. This makes it an unforgettable night. There are even surprise celebrity appearances. You can expect only the best when it comes to Disney.
Schools can sign up for “Blast Off!, ” which is at Disney’s California Adventure a few hours earlier than Disneyland opens. This gives the graduates a chance to eat and go on a few rides before Disneyland opens. It opens at 9pm.
In California Adventure, graduates will get a meal ticket for a meal. They will have one restaurant open where you can use your ticket. Graduates will choose from a chicken salad or cheeseburger, drink and french fries. This is good because the graduates are normally hungry when they arrive.
Grad Nite in Disneyland starts at 10:30pm with a dance floor in front of the castle and Main Street being open. The rest of the park opens at 11:30pm after the fireworks. Most attractions are open- some are actually closed due to their being less popular. This goes until 6am. No one is allowed to leave the park until 5am unless there is an emergency.
The park has fun decorations everywhere. There are even booths that are sponsored by different companies. The parade is also fun to watch. The theme of the parade is the top forty songs of that year. Most areas also have special lighting that is impressive.
There are also four dance floors that have great music and celebrity singers for the graduates to dance to. The radio station KIIS FM usually has the its own dance floor in from of the castle that has strobe lights, images that are projected onto the castle and a huge dance floor.
Each school that participates needs to have a certain number of chaperons, depending the the total students that they have attending. Disney treats chaperons with great treatment, though. There is a chaperon’s headquarters where they can snack, watch TV and even get massages. The chaperons are responsible for the behavior of their students and if anything comes up with the graduates they must attend to it. They actually have a big job.
If your school is considering Disney’s Grad Nite for the upcoming year, it is really something to consider. Graduates will create many lasting memories that they can take with them of their last days in high school. Let them celebrate- they have worked hard for it.
