Open Question: Few basic questions about pet rats?
I recently went to the pet store expecting to bring home 2 pet rats. (Yes, I did TONS of research. like 2 months) I was allowed to pick up the rats and see their tempermant. I found 2 amazingly cuddly and friendly female rats that were in perfect condition and I was SO about to get them… until my mom talked me out of it. what about vacation? you’ll just get bored of them like the hamsters. how can a rat love you?
I know the last one is so UNTRUE but she just broke me down. Also, I was planning on getting a REALLY cheap but also nice cage online, but only online, and I couldn’t possibly take them home right then and there and keep them cooped up in a hamster cage for a week.
Anyway, I’m asking:
How long do you think 2 female rats can go without human interaction/play time? (my parents are divorced, and so usually it’ll be my dad, brother, and i that go, so my mom will still be home, but she says shell only feed and give it water)
Are pet rats like the usual pets that get “boring” and “tiring” after a while?
Also, I go to my dad’s house every weekend. I’m only completly gone on Saturday. i leave friday afternoon, come back sunday morning. Will the rats be okay?
Also, just for reassurance, what do you feel about your pet rats? Do you love them? Vise versa?
Sorry this is so long!
For the “human interaction/play time” part, I was talking about like vacation. Most likely up to a week maybe two or three times a year.

Resolved Question: What should I do with my dog when we go on vacation?
Okay well first off…
I MIGHT go out of state to indiana in april to visit my brother’s college. It’ll probably only be 2-3 days(a day each to get there)-we’re driving.
I am also going to a wedding in May.-it’s in NY so it’ll take a day to get there and back. That’ll probably just be 2-3 days as well.
Should I….a)Board her b) Take her with us. C) have my friend watch her.
A) there is a boarding kennel near by. Apparently my friend’s dog goes there and they get to play with eachother-the dogs- but I think it costs ALOT. just for playing with other dogs…and it’s already $33 a night
B) I looked up some pet friendly hotels in the areas that we are going and they’re not that expensive-of course it depends on the hotel…
C) Three of my friends have dogs. One of them has a yorkie and he hates my dog. They had a playdate at my house-yes my dog was being dominant i think she went into his cage and chewed on his toy…but it will probably be worse at his house. Another one of my friends has a..2 or 3 month puppy. they haven’t met yet. Lastly my other friend has a golden retriever and i took my dog over to her house. They kinda ignored each other in the houes-my dog wanted to explore and her dog just kinda stared at my dog… When they went outside into the yard they started to chase eachother

Thanks in advance!
