Queensland Holidays

If you are looking for a beach experience in Australia then look no further than Queensland, known by the locals as the Sunshine State.

Queensland itself is the second largest state in Australia and the third most populated. It claims to have the most sunshine than any of the other states and it certainly has an impressive coastline and array of tropical islands.

The time of year can dictate where to go in Queensland as there are distinct weather differences. The far north (also known as the Tropical north) is best visited between May and October. In other months, you can expect wet weather and very humid temperatures

You can visit the rest of Queensland throughout the year although winter is still a bit cold for the beach. Spring and Autumn are particularly good as summer can be a little too hot.

Planning a trip to Queensland can be daunting given its size. If you are planning a long trip then spend a month on a road trip between Cairns and Sydney, or even drive onto Melbourne. This trip takes in the entire coast of Queensland and New South Wales and has something to please everyone.

If you have less time then a road trip from Noosa on Queensland’s sunshine coast, down to Sydney is a great idea. This would take you at least 2 weeks but could be done more leisurely if you have time.

For some, a road trip has zero appeal, No worries! It’s easy to hop on a plane from any of the major Australia cities to some of the most popular Queensland Holiday destinations. The most popular are Brisbane, The Gold Coast, The Sunshine Coast, The Whitsunday Islands and of course Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef.

If you want to combine beauty with adventure then head for Fraser Island. This amazing sand island allows 4 wheel driving along sandy paths and beaches. For the best experience, consider camping overnight on the beach. A great way to get back to nature.

No trip to Australia never mind Queensland is complete without a visit to the Great Barrier Reef. It’s a chance to snorkel or dive in one of the worlds most beautiful coral seas. Although the best access point is Cairns, stay somewhere else. Port Douglas and the small beach town of Palm Cove are far nicer than Industrial Cairns.

Whatever type of holiday you are looking for Queensland has it all. Beautiful beaches, vibrant cities and idyllic townships.
