Rome, the city that has unique historical monuments, offers a great experience, suitable for all tastes. The largest and most important town in Italy, the economical and cultural center is inhabited by over 2. 5 million people and visited by millions of tourists every year. The most famous Rome city breaks are the Coliseum, the Pantheon, and hundreds of churches and monuments.

Rome is an important tourist center. Among the most famous monuments are the Coliseum and Trajan’s Column. The Coliseum was popular among Romans due to the battle between gladiators. The construction was initiated by Vespasiano and inaugurated by Tito, in the year 80.

“La citt?ei sette colli” reflects the ancient history in a unique way. Legends and monuments coexist with a phenomenal concentration of population. It is very difficult to decide which place or monument to visit- the opulent arrogance of the Vatican, headquarters of international corporations, designer shops or impressive buildings.

Completed in 113, Trajan’s Column commemorates Trajan’s victory. The column is approximately 30 meters high and contains 18 massive blocks of Carrara marble, each weighing 40 tones. This monument represents a genuine evidence of Trajan’s campaigns against Dacia in the years 101-102 and 105-106.

Some of the most important attractions are the temples of Vesta, the mausoleum of Hadrian (known as Castle Sant’Angelo), Trajan’s Column, Piazza di spagna, and the famous fountains: Fontana di Trevi and Fontana del Tritone.

Rome can be overwhelming, as this city is a combination of history and modernism, religious and profane, serene and chaotic. Its ruins are old witnesses of the great Roman Empire. In most of Rome’s palaces and churches can be found enough artistic treasures to consume a lifetime of tourist visits.

Any tourist should visit Rome, the eternal fortress, which for centuries has held the political, military and spiritual supremacy on three continents.
