Resolved Question: colleges near washington dc?
i’m traveling to dc for a few days next month and i’d like to check out 1 or 2 colleges while im there. I’m a sophomore in high school now so it’s kind of early but i figured i should look while i’m in the area. What are some colleges nearby?(I’m only there for a few days so i need a less than an hour driving distance from the city)
Open Question: USA Coast to Coast.. on bus!?
I’m planning a C2C.. We cant rent a car, so we will use public transports.. (bus)
The trip is from NYC to SF, SF to LA and finally LA to NYC again.
This are some steps:
- New York, NY to Philadelphia, PA
- Philadelphia, PA to Pittsburgh, PA
- Pittsburgh, PA to Columbus, OH
- Columbus, OH to Indianapolis, IN
- Indianapolis, IN to Saint Louis, MO
- Saint Louis, MO to Kansas City, MO
- Kansas City, MO to Denver, CO
- Denver, CO to Salt Lake City, UT
- Salt Lake City, UT to Winnemucca, NV
- Winnemucca, NV to Reno, NV
- Reno, NV to San Francisco, CA
- San Francisco, Ca to Los Angeles, CA
- Los Angeles, CA to Las Vegas, NV
- Las Vegas, NV to Flagstaff, AZ
- Flagstaff, AZ to Gallup, NM
- Gallup, NM to Albuquerque, NM
What do you think?
The choices were made depending on the time taken to reach them.
From Albuquerque, as you advise me to continue? (keeping the travel time between 3 and 6-7 hours, no more) The final stage NEW YORK (Washington, DC, to New York)
How do you think is expensive? (only travel expenses, not room and board)
Time of Travel: 27-30 July to 30-31 August
i’m getting time of travels by Greyhound.com
@ mr. danger
We are all 18, so we cant rent a car..
I know that some companies also rent the eighteen, but they told me that you pay A LOT more ..
Unfortunately we are Italians, then you add the costs of the trip air ticket (which in August is between 650 and 980 euro / 885 to 1335 $)
So we can not afford to spend much, so we should use a bus. Greyhound I was advised by a friend, but if you believe there are better company, please let us know.
Open Question: Is there a website that provides travel information from locals?
Basically, I’m heading to Washington D.C. tomorrow and am not really interested in touring the museums and what not. I’ll be moving here permanently in the future, so I want to get a good feel for the city (and the surrounding neighborhoods in Northern Virginia).
I’d love to find a website that has more information about where the locals hang out. I was hoping to find information about nice shopping areas, diamond in the rough restaurants and any lesser known attractions.
I did check out Yelp, but I found it to really only be helpful for restaurants.
Also, do you have any suggestions on the best way to explore the different neighborhoods in DC? Again, I’ll be moving there shortly so I want to make the most of my time to find nice areas to live and play in.
Thanks!
