Open Question: I can’t cope being away from my child?
I see my daughter during every school vacation and otherwise she lives with her father and attends an international school, I am a teacher (in a completely different country). This is the way her father and I wanted it, we chose the best situation.She has just turned 7 years old. I call her twice a day and we have wonderful conversations and her dad/aunt sends me pictures of her weekly (you think thats too infrequent too huh!) I have never once gone a day without speaking to her.
Recently I’ve been getting so stressed, abotu everything really. I just feel **** to put it blunty. Everyday I just think what the hell have I done to my life. I feel so guilty I can’t even explain it. I honestly feel like leaving everything behind here to be with her but I can’t afford to support myself with no more income. I really don’t want to uproot her from her home and her school, friends. I’m not even sure what I’m asking, just some reassurance…I know people look at me and think I’m selfish and I don’t love my daughter, in fact I know they must think that. They probably think I’m a cold mother, but I am not…
I’ve started to fly over almost every weekend now, my savings are just draining, and me seeing her for just two days isn’t something that she likes – she always wants me to stay and everything ends in tears.
Resolved Question: Can my employer pay on top of what I get for short-term disability?
Last week I had an emergency appendectomy and missed 4 days of work. I am covered by short-term disability, but do not want to take a pay cut. The short-term disability would pay 60% of my pay, but is capped at an amount below 50% of my weekly pay.
My goal is to not take a pay cut, and the one sure way of doing this is to use 4 of my vacation days (I only get 10) for the missed days. However, if I file for short-term disability, can my company make up the difference in pay by using 1-2 of my vacation days? The HR manager is waiting a call back from our insurance agent regarding this, but I thought I might get a quicker answer here.
The surgeon wrote me an excuse note through Wednesday, but said I could return earlier. I am currently back at work, I am not feeling so hot, but don’t want to go home if it means using a partial vacation day. There’s a way to claim the short-term disability if I come back part time, which I was planning on doing, but I want to make sure that me working a full day today won’t jeopordize me from claiming short-term disability for Tues-Fri of last week.
Voting Question: jealous of boyfriend?
Me and my boyfriend have been dating for 3 years. We were really close last year when he was practically living with me in dorms. This year he is living at home, and don’t get to see him that often. We both go to the same church and within our church we are separated into small groups. Every group meets weekly and consists of both girls and boys. I get extremely jealous when hes with his group. He recently took a four day vacation with them. He came back and hung out with me the whole next day. Then the next day he studied and then at night after he texted me that he was really tired and going to bed.. he calls me and asks about a restaurant that i really like. We didnt have a chance to go there because the restaurant was closed. Im really jealous of him hanging out with his small group. How do I fix this?!?!?!!
I’m not going to church because of my boyfriend. I can’t be in the same small group because it’s chosen at random.
Also I can’t ask to hang out with them because it’s not my group and I have my own group. Also it would be awkward
