Most people think of Australia as being mostly dirt and desert with nothing to offer in the terms of a vacation. When some friends suggested we go I had the same idea but I couldn’t have been more wrong. We had a wonderful time and I thought I would pass the experience along to you.
Most people tend to forget that this is a continent and has miles of beaches. These beaches are covered in beautiful white sand and surrounded by majestic blue waters. Snorkeling, diving, and surfing are abundant in this far away land. The waters are over flowing with marine life and reefs along with submarines and underwater caves waiting to be explored.
I visited Sydney as well. To say the least I was never bored there, they had concerts and rides on yachts, and I even went to the opera. The harbor is beautiful especially in the evening time. I loved the water front restaurants and the food was a bit different but still fantastic.
A bit further inland you start to find those deserts, but they are not quite as they may have seemed. Here you find ancient cultures and vast landscapes where you seem to be able to see across the globe. Here you have glorious sunsets and mountain ranges that are a rock climbers dream. Even in the middle of the desert you may be lucky enough to see beautiful purple vegetation or find a lush green oasis.
The people were all friendly and ready to talk even though we were strangers in a foreign land. We heard stories that must date back thousands of years and saw magnificent carvings. The pubs were always lively and the differences in culture were just noticeable enough to make things interesting.
Australia is a wonderful vacation spot with lots of culture and activities packed into one place. With the great prices I got I am hoping to go back again soon. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get away and try something new.
