A lot of times, people who decide to travel to to an island for vacation do not realize how many options they have when it comes to where they can stay. There a many individuals who do not know that islands usually offer many different kinds of accommodations. The first accommodation, and of course, pretty normally the most popular, is a hotel or a hotel and resort. The next kind of accommodation is to pay for a rental house. Another kind of accommodation offered on almost every beach resort is a timeshare. Timeshare rentals are for those types of travelers who want to go to that same island every year and then they share the rights of use with other people. Usually, in this case the partial owners have certain times every year when they can use the property. All of these options have their positives and negatives.
Hotels and hotel resorts are by far the most used form of island accommodations. At a hotel resort people can choose somewhere that is all-inclusive, meaning they pay one price which includes their stay, food, drinks, and certain activities. A hotel offers the most readily reachable assistance, but sometimes hotels can get very crowded, especially during the in-season.
A rental house is another common type of island accommodation. Usually, rental homes are for four or more people and they almost always need a commitment of a minimum of a one week stay. Rental homes are nice because they can be so you and your family or friends can have more privacy. Also, most have their own pools, so you don’t have to worry about the resort pool being too crowded. The one problem with a rental home is that sometimes it is not close to the beach, so you would most likely need to rent a car as well.
A shared rental home is a third kind of accommodation found on lots of islands. A shared rental home means that you and any number of other people rent the condo or home and when you sign a lease for the property you sign for a certain amount of time you want to use the property. Many times, people use a shared rental home, on an island, for a week or two out of the year and then the other people involved take turns using it throughout the year as well. This is just like a rental home, only you are part lessee and you may live in it for a certain week or two out of the year, which normally it is the same week or weeks every year. The one trouble that could occur with a shared rental is that in order to make it worth the money you need to go to your vacation home on the same island every year. However, shared rental homes usually do not have long-term, so it’s not like you would be stuck going to the same island for years and years. However, this is also an advantage because if you really like the island, and you plan on coming back year after year, a shared rental is a very smart way to keep the accommodations you like at a cheaper price because you are sharing a lease with others.
There are plenty of other types of island accommodations; however, the ones listed above are the most popular. Whether you are renting a home, staying at a hotel, or living in shared rental property for a week or two, your island vacation is sure to be absolutely amazing! Every one of these accommodations have their unique advantages and the key to selecting the one that is best for you and your family or friends is to ask yourselves what you want and then select from there to be on your way to having an amazing vacation!
